Reach Out is what you wanna get into if you want to do something that’s awesome but constructive. Come on, what’s the last thing you came across that was both since toasting bread?
Good news is our meet ups are only on Sundays from 3pm to 5pm, so it’s not like you’ll have to take time out of your busy school/college/work schedules to help out. You can even grab a few cupcakes and leave early if you like, though it’s unlikely because you’ll be too busy having fun.
We’re focusing on two things right now.
1. Our documentary. It’ll be about how sometimes, Sri Lankan society tolerates oppression against women, most often in the name of culture and tradition. We start filming in January, and if you don’t want to get into the serious investigative journalism stuff – you can still help with the creative hand, or even give your opinions on the subject, on or off camera.
2. Forum discussions. We want to talk about issues important to you. The things that people don’t talk about. Things that need to change, or get better. Do you have an opinion? Are you concerned about something? Do you want to raise awareness about something you think people need to know about? Then we’re your medium.
Besides that, we plan on doing some funny Youtube skits, go on trips out of town and act spontaneously on whatever ideas pop up at Sunday meetups.
Who are we? We’re a mix of college goers, office workers, writers, and just young people with an enthusiasm for positive change.
